Enjoy!!

Draya from Basketball Wives LA on Vh1 is definitely doing her thing with her MintSwim Swimwear Line. Today she gave us a peek of new fabric swatches. I guess she is inspired by the Chinese New Year by picking some fruit bursting python prints. I am so excited to see what is to come!!

Kate Moss and Karl Lagerfeld, the haute couture aristocracy gave major face at Carrine Roitfeld's CRFashionbook party in Paris. Pick up your own book now at your newstands for $20.

Friend in my head Shopcletique, looked stunning in her Aryn K Maxi dress. Looking like the Chiffon goddess with a full head of flowing hair, she looked effortless and fab. If you want this dress follow her on instagram!

It was a wrap for Marc Jacobs, as he displayed his model board with African inspired head turbans for his SS/13 Marc by Marc Jacobs Women's Wear line.

Hayden Williams, an inspiration and amazing fashion sketcher, enticed me to want to see the new Disney movie - OZ. Check out the modernized Wicked Witch of the West gown!! Stunning. Hayden really knows how to work the details.

Last and not least, Miss,"What You Not Gonna Do" Tami Roman of Basketball Wives of Miami fame, shared a collage of famous people (Tatyana Ali, Kat Willams, The Mann's, Coco etc.) that she has encountered among her years. I am actually happy for her success. She is doing some amazing things, have you seen her on that NV commercial?

I hope you enjoyed, my favorite instagrams! Till next time!!

Sophisticated Look of the Day: Look 1

Hello My Fashion Honey's, I decided to start doing my new "Sophisticated Look of the Day" posts, to bring a sense of work chic and sophistication to my blog. I received your requests ladies and now your wish is my command! I have been afraid to post pics of myself considering that the process to taking a pic for myself is not glamorous nor is it easy. Today's look is a Ben Sherman hounds tooth Cardigan, with a Calvin Klein cobalt dress and Michael Kors snakeskin embossed leather over the knee boots.
I hope you like!

Awards Honey: The Grammy's!

Hello and Happy Sunday Fashion Honey's!

Tonight is the Grammy's and I am so excited to see the hottest outfits to hit the red carpet from my favorite musicians! I can't wait to see Rhianna perform. We all know that the Grammy's are about music, but historically, the Grammy's red carpet has highlighted the different yet quirky fashion choices of our favorite artists. Recently, CBS sent out a release to performs and our fave red carpet dwellers to "cover up". Tonight, I want to hone in on my favorite Grammy outfits.

To be clear- Jennifer Lopez, Faith Hill and Carrie Underwood were quite a bore to me this year. I am over the plain black gowns with a high slit, Angelina did it and its time to move on; I am also over the sequins on black gowns- sooo over it.  Please feel free to dispute.

Now that I got that out of the way, lets move on to my favorites!!!

1. Kelly Rowland- Best Dress
I love Kelly's strategicaly placed diamond cut outs. This Georges Chakra gown was very sexy, she has the body to carry it off, thanks to Jeanette Jenkins her celebrity personal trainer. I was glad that Kelly didn't cover up too much.  I wished that she had a litle more drama in her hair.  Albeit, I would say that this is Kelly's best and I can't wait to see more from her.

2. Rhianna- Best Color and Best Gown Runner-Up
Rhianna looked perfectly statuesque in her red custom Azzedine Alaia gown. I loved the cris-cross sheer neckline and criss cross mesh around her waist line. So beautiful.I also loved her red lip and red stilleto nails. But what was up with the Beyonce like hair? I wished that she stayed jet-black and short- It wouldv'e taken her look to another level. I loved and lived for her train!! Just gorgeous and the design of the back of her dress is just glam!

3. Beyonce - Best Modern
I am living for her colorblocked (black and white) Osman pantsuit. I love how she put her hair in a sleek ponytail and kept her accessories to a minimum. Beyonce's post baby bod looks stellar and she is pretty much defying gravity tonight! Work it Bey!

4. Katy Perry- Best Embellishments
I was so glad to see Katy more natural and toned down (hair and makeup-wise). I would've wished for more blush or contouring on her face. I loved that she was inspired by Priscilla Presley . She had her rack on display (side-eye) in a sultry mint green key-hole cleavage baring gown with gold and silver flower embellishments along her neckline. Very soft, vintage and pretty.

5. Taylor Swift- Best Halter Neckline
Taylor Swift seems like she has been listening to me, I need Carrie Underwood to take a hint as well. I am so glad that Taylor is keeping the sequins and beading to a minimum and looking into the actuall structure and design of the gown to keep her in the "fashion big leagues" Taylor stunned in Jay Mendel; I loved how she looked like a sexy Greek Goddess. The white aphrodite inspired gown featured a plunging neckline with a sequin T strap that went down her chest line. She was quite the vision in that gown! Just gorge!

6. Bonnie McKee -Best Structure
Bonnie worked her futuristic mermaid gown. I love love love the structure of the bodice. I hated her hair. I will leave that piece alone.

Well I am going to get back to watching the Grammy's. I can't wait to see more of the on-stage costumes. If insipired I will expand the post to include those as well.

Royal Honey: Get inspired by Spring 2013's freshest color: Royal Blue!!

Hello Honey's,

There are many awesome things that are blue: Beyonce and Jay-Z have Blue Ivy (and she just turned 1), My favorite European Soccer Team and World Champions Chelsea FC's team colors are blue, the NY Giant's colors (Go NY, even though we are out of the playoffs) are blue and Princess Kate's engagement ring is a beautiful sapphire blue. Now you can be a part of the blue-fest for Spring 2013, because Royal Blue has been ravishing the runways and advertisements (Gucci, Versus and Fendi) as of late. I love this color and how it works for most complexions.

Royal blue according to Wikipedia "describes both a bright shade and a dark shade of azure blue. It is said to have been invented by millers in Rode, Somerset, a consortium of which won a competition to make a dress for the British queen, Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.[3]"

Now you can be like the Royals and enjoy Royal blue at all costs, now I am not saying that you are going to win a monopoly game and a royal blue dress will be made for you, but you can use your royal fingers and purchase a dress at the link that I have provided below.

Look Royal

If you definitely have a budget like a royal, check out the pieces that I put together, that can make you look awesome.

Spend like a Royal

You can't do a blue outfit without having some trendy makeup as well. I love using navy blue liner under my eyes. Maybe after scoping these options, I might have to expand my color options to nails and mascara as well!

Royal Blue Beauty

I plan to work a video on how you can incorporate this look into your sophisticated lifestyle. Follow me on my color journey throughout spring!

If you would like to see more royal blue pieces, check out some styles chosen below;

Enjoy!

Awards Honey: My TOP 10 Fave Looks from the Golden Globes

Hello My Honey's,

If you weren't watching the Real Housewives of Atlanta, you were definitely watching the Golden Globes. I will be honest and say that there was way too much flesh tone and black gowns which made most of the red carpet a snooze fest, but I really enjoyed the looks of the actresses I selected below. I also was tired of seeing everyone do the "Angelina leg" when they posed. *Bore*.  I also wished that I saw more actresses of color... but I digress; check out my faves on the red carpet. Images are credited to Getty Images and AP!

The Honey Awards for best dressed on the Red Carpet for the Golden Globes goes to:

1) Nicole Richie in Naeem Khan Spring 2013, Best Lace Gown
Nicole Richie is no stranger to great taste, so it didn't surprise me when she chose this Naeem Khan stunner straight off the runway. Nicole you hit it right on the nail and I thank you for not falling into the gap of boring color on the red carpet this year.

2. Heidi Klum in Alexandre Vauthier  (Sexiest Gown) : her asymmetrical one shoulder beaded gown, with ultimate thigh high slit made her quite the vision in white! Just beautiful! I heard that she had a near wardrobe malfunction with her thigh high slit.... hmm....

3. Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Couture(Best Old Hollywood)
I loved the old Hollywood glamour of the gown and the futuristic look of her skinny belt. It really accentuated her waist and modernized her look.

4. Morena Baccarin in Valentino
I loved how unique her Valentino gown was on the red carpet. She nailed it with airy pleats and beaded column down the middle of her torso. She is the winner of the Dare to be Different gown!

5) Jennifer Lopez in  Zuhair Murad ( based on curve appeal, boy the Golden Globes were lacking!!)
Jennifer worked the see through lace white applique gown! She got the award for "Gown for Most Curve Appeal" I loved how it looked on her. Artfully tailored and strategically placed design won her a top 10 spot on my list. Jennifer Lopez although not nominated knows how to win on the red carpet!

6) Kaley Cuoco in Catherine Kidd : Best Neckline
I loved loved Kaley's gown. Albeit, her color is fleshtone, but the neckline made the gown soo stunning!

7) Taylor Swift in Donna Karan (Best backless dress)
Finally! An edgier look!! I was excited to not recognize Taylor Swift in her uniformed sequin airy gowns! I loved the structure of the shift and the balance in the mermaid tail! Her hair, makeup and dress looked stunning! I just wished they used a little starch when they steamed her gown.

8) Naomi Watts in Zac Posen: ( Best Color)
The Oxblood color was so rich and gorgeous and I live for that train!!!

9) Jennifer Garner in Vivienne Westwood (Best Sequin design on Gown), worked that Garnet Sequined gown. She looks great. The neckline was perfect and the hue totally complemented her porcelain skin. Just glam.

Finally....
10) Selena Gomez in Atelier Versace! Sadly, she was covered in most photos but her dress looked better than a Golden Globe!! I give the gown Best Structure!  I loved the peplum structure, gold brocade design and corset of the gown as well as the aspect of it being a mini! Donatella makes great dresses!!

There you have it ladies, It was great stalking the red carpet and I look forward to what you thought were your faves!!

Time to put the binoculars away and hit the pillow!

Take Care!
